Atienza was rushed to the Philippine General Hospital around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Fely recounted that her husband was on his way to ABS-CBN in Quezon City when he complained of dizziness. His driver rushed him to PGH where doctors discovered he had a mild stroke.

He was transferred to Makati Medical Center around noon.

Former Manila Mayor and Environment Secretary Lito Atienza, Atienza’s father, also said even his doctors “are really, really amazed with the way he recovered.”
