 President Benigno Simeon Aquino III on Sunday named Lt. Gen. Eduardo Oban Jr. as the 42nd chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, replacing Gen. Ricardo David Jr. who is set to retire this March 8. The President said he has no doubts that Oban will pursue the reforms started by David and strengthen the military's peace program. 
Wala akong duda na kaya niyang ipagpatuloy ang mga nasimulang reporma ni General David... Nawa's magsilbi siyang inspirasyon sa Laon Alab [I have no doubt that he is capable of continuing the reforms that General David had started. I hope that General Oban serves as an inspiration to the members of the Laon Alab class],” Aquino said.



FORT DEL PILAR, Baguio City — President Benigno Aquino III on Sunday faced the 196 graduates of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) this year and urged them to resist the temptation of corruption.

Nandito kayo hindi para magpayaman (You are not here to become wealthy)," Aquino told members of the PMA Laon Alab Class in his speech during their commencement exercises here.




Natupad na ang pangarap ng 10-year-old Filipino-Canadian na si Maria Aragon na makasama sa pagkanta ang kanyang idolo na si Lady Gaga sa concert ng pop superstar sa Toronto, Canada.
